Herb Hillz / Wii at Julians

Saturday morning Cam, Shelley and I grabbed lunch downtown and headed to Herb Hillz to do the treetop obstacle course.  On the way Shelley and I bought couples Pacman jumpers.  Sods law - because its white - there was soon coffee on it.  Will have to make a plan to wear them out at the same time!

Mark met us at Herb Hillz (its South Daegu in the middle of nowhere).  Managed to get a free bumper cars ride -strangely Koreans will drive round actively avoiding hitting anyway else!  For the course you get a safety harness, gloves and a helmet and a couple minutes training near the ground (only the odd word in English).  Essentially you have 2 clips and a zipline hook and you need to have at least one attached at all times.  Charles headed first, followed by me, then Shelley, Mark and a few other foreigners. Shelly'd done it before and got us to do the less difficult (but more fun) course.

It started off with a big rope net, a few big long zip lines, a strange skateboard type thing that moved when you tried to stand on it (Shelley had a lot of problems with that) as well as a few more things.  I guess it took about an hour in all.  Only Charles and I brought our phones so sadly (or luckily) there aren't really any with me in but you get the idea.  Here are the videos: Cam onetwo  and three, Jono one, Shelley one and two, Mark one, Ropebridge and Cancan.  A few of the zip lines you ended up not reaching the end and had to pull yourself along whilst others you were still going a decent speed when you slammed into the pad on the other side (Shelly 2)!

Triplets!
Saturday night we went into downtown Daegu.  Could've honestly done with a nap before.  Met/ bumped into loads of people and got a cab back with Sophie.  A certain gentleman named C stayed out all night, seeing someone he's seen before (and apparently climbed out a window in the morning to escape awkward questions..)

Sunday I used up the last of the think bacon I got from Homeplus to make giant bacon french toast sandwiches.  In the evening we headed to 율하 and met Shelley and Julian at Lotte World.  Got some food, booze and Mario Cart for the Wii and went to Julians.  Hilarity ensued - see videos for examples.  It seems I suck at most games, but do look ridiculously funny doing it.  Made up an character on the Wii for me which turned out like this:

It had honestly started seriously, but didn't stay that way for long!  Anyway, got my Korean homework to do (back doing classes 2 days a week at the YMCA).  I'm trying to start letter writing again, so if you fancy a catch up on amazing Korean paper leave your address here, facebook or email it to me.

St Patricks Day / Football

Saturday was St Paddy's day so headed to Busan.  Had huge delicious sandwiches at 해운대 beachfront, had some drinks and walked along by the sea.  There were some Koreans busking and a strange creepy guy was dancing in front of them.  Stacie went and danced with him for a bit, then did a rolypoly in front of the band which earned her applause.

Many many beers in Haeundae followed.  Kept of meaning to head to KSU or another bar but never quite managed it.  Had a minor falling out with one of the guys (let's just say it took a week for the bruise on my nipple to go away!).

Sunday I headed to watch Daegu play football against Incheon.  The game was OK, the cheerleaders at half time being most of the entertainment.  It was nice sitting outside in the sun though, despite the hangover.

Baked in Green Tea

30 posts in and my blogs been read about 400 times!

I've been in Ulsan the last couple weekends.  First weekend we met Stacie (already drunk) who was already drunk and kept attempting (usually failing) to to do handstands.
Hungover on Sunday Mark and I wanted to hit a 찜질방 (they're a godsend when you're hungover).  Aden and Olivia were heading to a place nearby so went along.  For 20k we put on these shorts and then got buried in hot green tea and rice husks.  The ladies who worked there were hilarious, even taking photos during of us in the soil/mud stuff.  On their own phones.  I wonder if we'll end up on the sign.

After the all body mud we showered off (although it was quite difficult getting it outta of my hair.  Honestly was still washing it outta my chest and other body hair for days!  Next we had a facial (no dirty jokes now!) along with a leg/foot massage.  Had a go on a massage chair and called it a day.

Trick Art (트릭아트)

This entry will be a little photo heavy!!

Thursday was a public holiday as well as the last day that Trick Art (트릭아트) was in Daegu so loads of us went to Exco.

Here are some of the best of the bunch.

Birthday Meals

I had JD and Lauren over for dinner last week (made my "Thai Red Curry" - rice cake, tofu, potato, carrot, korean peppers and two different types of mushroom boiled up in coconut milk and spices) so this week on Wednesday Lauren cooked dinner at hers and JD's.

We had spag bol, home cooked by Lauren herself as well as my 14year old bottle of single malt Oban, beer and 막걸리.  Found out all sorts of adult details about everyone!  Stumbled home after 2pm.  Finished off the birthday cake that work got for me as well as ate birthday muffins.

Thursday we had the day off so we went to Trick Art - (see next post).  Afterwards Mark and I headed to Ulsan for 친구 night. I helped Mark clean and tidy and then peeled potatoes and carrots for the shepherds pie.  All of the Ulsan lot came over for food and booze.  Afterwards I was surprised with another birthday cake!
